The Stables Reviews

Oliver
Really impressed with the service, will definitely return soon.
Elaine
We spent a week here with four of us and honestly, it was just perfect for our New Year break. The cabin had everything we needed and then some - cosy, comfy beds, plenty of cooking gearand a hot tub that was such a treat after a day out. The owners were lovely, so friendly and knowledgeable about the area, but never intrusive. We loved how close it was to the beach and Pwllheli village, making everything easy to get to. My partner especially enjoyed feeding the donkeys in the mornings - they were so friendly, it was a real highlight! The welcome pack was a lovely touch, really appreciated it. All in all, we couldn’t recommend this place enough; definitely a spot we’d return to. Huge thanks to the hosts for making our stay so special. Wishing you all the best for 2025!
Emma
We loved the cosy, well-equipped cottage with lovely hosts and adorable donkeys. Perfect spot for exploring North Wales. Highly recommended!
Emma
We had such a lovely stay at The Stables! The place has been beautifully renovated and sits in a really scenic spot with stunning views. The donkeys were definitely a highlight-feeding and petting them was such a treat, especially when Kate loved to boop noses with Bella through the fence. The hot tub is perfectly positioned to soak in the viewand the enclosure makes it usable whatever the weather. The location is ideal as a base for exploring loads of nearby beaches and scenic walks. Everything we needed was thoughtfully providedand the welcome goodies were a nice touch. John and Dawn are fantastic hosts-friendly, warmand made us feel right at home. It genuinely felt like a home away from homeand we’re already planning to come back. Wishing them all the best with their own renovations, which I’m sure will turn out just as amazing as the stable! Thanks so much for a relaxing break! :)
Oliver
We had a fantastic week at the stables. The property is beautifully converted and has everything we needed, which made our stay really comfortable. The hot tub was definitely a highlight; it’s perfect for relaxing after a day out exploring North Wales, with great views to enjoy. Our 7-year-old loved the animals - feeding the donkeys and sheep kept her entertained for ages. We also brought our dogand it felt very secure for him, which was a relief. The owners, Dawn and John, were incredibly kind and really made us feel welcome. They even looked after our dog while we went out for a couple of trips, which was much appreciated. Overall, a lovely place with thoughtful hosts. We’d definitely stay again!
Jamie
We had a fantastic stay at this holiday home! It’s really well-equipped and spotless, which made us feel right at home. The views from the deck and hot tub are simply stunning - perfect for relaxing after a day out. The little donkeys in the field nearby kept our kids entertained for ages; we even bought carrots to feed them! The location is spot on, offering easy trips to Pwllheli, Abersochand Nefyn, yet it’s so peaceful and quiet in the mornings and evenings. We’d definitely come back with the family again. Huge thanks to the owners for their warm hospitality - it made our trip even more special!
Emma
We recently stayed at The Stables with three of us and our medium-sized dogand honestly, it was a really lovely experience. The place is thoughtfully designed, having been converted from what used to be animal shelters and stables, so you do need to be mindful of the stairs between the different levels - but it’s all been done really well. The rooms are a good sizeand the beds are super comfy, which made it easy to relax after busy days exploring the local area. The garden is a real highlight. It’s fully enclosed, so our dog could run around freely, sniffing at the sheep, lambsand donkeys without any worries. There’s plenty of space to wanderand we enjoyed sitting out on the decking with some drinks, especially as the sun was setting. We even managed to catch a glimpse of the sunset from there, with a sea view if the weather’s kind. The garden’s a fantastic spot for star gazing too - it’s dark enough for a proper sky show, though sadly we missed the Aurora on our last night, which was a bit disappointing. The bathroom was spacious, offering both a shower and a bath - perfect for unwinding. The property’s layout is clever, making good use of the space, but do keep an eye on the stairs if you’re not keen on steep steps. We found it manageable, though. Location-wise, it’s great for exploring North Wales and Anglesey, with easy access into Snowdonia too. The owners were super friendly and full of local tips. They recommended visiting Nant Gwrtheyrn, the Lost Village near Nefyn - such a good place! The steep drive up is quite a climb, so take care if the weather’s wet, but the village itself is lovely, with a café and parking. Nefyn beach is a must-see at the right tideand Pwllheli has plenty of shops, barsand restaurants, plus a decent beach where our dog could have a run. All in all, we’d definitely recommend this place. It’s good value for money and comfortably fits four adults plus a furry friend. Thanks for letting us stay in your wonderful holiday home - we’re already looking forward to coming back!
