Gwel Y Fenai Reviews

Our stay here was brilliant except the blind in the kingsize bedroom was broken. The window in the family room didn't have a latch on it, so if it was windy, it would open up wide. My daughter had to get on a table and stand on it to reach to close it. The hoover only had a short cord on it, so it was limited to where we could clean. Ended up sweeping and then mopping. The hot tub was amazing after coming back from walking all day. Lovely and relaxing.

The views from the back are definitely the best feature. The cottage itself we felt was a little tired looking, especially the bathroom. Toilet seat broke, ducting hanging out of ceiling, door to boiler room wouldnt close etc The kitchen equipment was very under stocked. 3 Tumblers, 4 mugs, chipped plates etcfridge door loose, taps wobbly Just needs a little TLC to make it good again.
The property was a very nice and relaxing place to stay. The beds were very comfortable. One bug bear whenever I'm on holiday is the poor quality kitchen knifes.....however they were fantastic. The only niggle was a few essential kitchen items were not available cheese grater, potato masher, bottle opener and kitchen scissors. We bought a cheese grater and potato masher while there which we did leave for future guests. Otherwise the kitchen well equipped with lots of storage space for food. The hot tub was lovely to relax in after a day out.the driveway is up a hill and the parking spaces at the top we found a little awkward to pull into due to the woodenlog edging being at a right angle at the top. We only had one car and I think it may be tricky getting two up there and into the spaces. We found reversing up the drive enabled up to get into place abit easier. There's a big Tesco only 10 minutes drive away. Also a good sports direct store a little further on from Tesco which came in handy when the sole fell off my old walking boots and I needed to purchase new ones! Close to Llanberis, less than 20 minutes drive. We managed to venture up Snowdon while there the hot tub definitely came in handy the next day to soothe sore achy muscles! Usually after 5 nights away I am ready to come home, but I could definitely have stayed for longer. I felt very relaxed at the property and would definitely return.

We had the pleasure of staying here for 4 days 3 nights, we could have so easily stayed longer. This house is immaculate, I love the open plan downstairs. The kitchen has everything you need to cook nice meals, I even took my slow cooker & made beef stew & dumplings for the Sunday when we got back of a long walk. The hot tub was a big hit for my 3 big kids
Kirsten
The property was lovely and comfortable and had almost everything we needed. Perfect location for what we needed to explore and visiting family. One of the nicest properties we've booked and the hot tub is a bonus. The views are stunning and we dropped on some great weather for January, can only imagine it in the summer months. Glad to have managed to get home before the snow hit though already missing the under floor heating. The property was so warm and toasty. The host was lovely and friendly and we would recommend this property and will likely visit again. Maybe a tip for improvement would be beneficial if some cleaning products were left accessible so that we could maintain standards we like to leave the property in, there was no cleaning fluids or mop headbucket or even a simple speedy mop and as we had a dog we found we had to use kitchen towels that we brought to wipe up footprints round the door area. Overall though a property we'd recommend.

Darren
Fantastic location, so peaceful, but so much to go out and explore. Accommodation was lovely, a special place to stay. Would highly recommend, and will certainly want to book this cottage again next time we visit the area
A truly amazing property. Very well equipped, lovely comfortable seats and beds. Great to lie in the big hot tub, looking out to the straits looking at the stars. Can't recommend enough
Brilliant property and location. Amazing sunsets over the Menai Straits from the Hot tub, a fantastic addition. Would benefit from an information pack on use of appliances and recycling etc. Robyn and Anwen were very accomodating, nothing too much trouble. Very pleasantly supprised by the lovely harbour and would recommend the Llofft cafe bar and Gardfon pub also a new pub newly opened on the Harbour Dock. Would definitely return.
Daniel

Really enjoyed our stay, the cottage was great and had everything we needed. Amazing views from the garden area, kids loved the hot tub. The bathroom and shower were very good. Nice touch having some tea bags and milk in the fridge for when we arrived and Welsh cakes. Location was so good for Snowden & Zip world would highly recommend.

Elaine
Lovely cottage in a great location for exploring Wales. Lots of things to do and see in the local area just minutes drive from this property. View is stunning and owner very helpful. Stoney beach just a few minutes walk from the house . The animal neighbours sheep and cows friendly and inquisitive.
We loved the quiet location and how modern the cottage was. Everything was there to make it home from home. The only thing we struggled with was the sun shining through the velux windows upstairs at 4am lighting up the bedrooms so would highly recommend some blinds. Also some instructions for the heating more for winter and the rubble to be cleared from the side of the cottage.
A beautiful house in a lovely location. The host was welcoming and accommodating. We will definitely be back!
